Illustration to chapter 17 “Modern Psychology” of the book “Why?” (Alpina PRO, 2024).
"Empty chatter is fast food for the brain." E. Fleysher
The painting shows the exchange of energy between a psychologist and a client. Notice that the client and the psychologist resemble each other: it is often unclear who is in whose role. At the same time, each borrows energy from the other to steady their inner processes. The psychologist's knowledge of spiritual growth and of how life works helps the one in need by leading them toward an understanding of what is happening inside them. This is shown in the background of the painting — the division of a cell, the making of all living nature and matter, including the biochemical changes in the blood: the painting's idea is that when a person understands what is happening to them and what deserves their attention, they can bring themselves back to a steady state.
