Work for the article “Harmony” (letter Г) in the book “The Spiritual Alphabet”.
Before us is a moment of sounding. The accordion, as a symbol, is not shown literally here — it is unpacked into colour, sound, a surge. This is not an instrument held in someone's hands — this is life itself as an instrument. The accordion lies in the horizontal plane; its movement is fixed not in form but in the difference between compression and opening: the upper part is compressed — stillness; the lower part is open — motion. It is the inhale and exhale of a state. Instead of bellows — streams of colour. Each colour carries its own frequency, each wave its own note. These notes are not read directly — they are layered like a code, and even if you cannot hear them, you still feel them. Where the right and left parts meet, a surge is born — upward. Not a peak, not an explosion, but a moment when frequencies coincide. And downward runs a strait — through a form recalling a treble clef or a speaker, inside which light is born.
Context:
Harmony is not equilibrium but the agreement of non-coinciding forms. "Harmony is not in sameness. Harmony is in each part sounding in its own way — and that is exactly what creates the shared canvas." So it is here: the colours differ, the movements differ, and the sounding is one.
The philosophy of the painting:
Harmony is not rest. It is the musical accord of complex parts. It sounds not because it is perfect, but because it is mutually tuned.
You do not play this accordion. You become it. And as long as you live — you play.
