Food: You Are Filled With What You Eat

Evgeny Fleysher · 11 July 2026

A person is filled with what they eat — and this is not only about food on a plate. Information, impressions, the people around you — all of that is food too. We reflect and express what we consume: on the input side, the contents of your plate and your news feed; on the output side, your state, your words, your decisions.

At the same time, “healthy food” does not exist as an idea in itself, detached from the person. This is not nutrition advice — it is a way of looking. How food is received depends on who is receiving it: on your constitution, your emotional state, the process of thinking you are inside at that moment. How much you draw from what you eat, and what you do with it, begins first of all in thinking. Which is why food should be looked at with the brain — and judged not by the taste buds but by the result: how you feel afterwards, what this food does to you.

We reflect and express what we consume.

“Bad habits” do not exist

Let me put it more sharply: bad habits do not exist. The word “habit” is simply the description of a script. In choosing a habit, a person makes the less costly choice — the brain saves energy, that is all. Which is why fighting a habit head-on is pointless: you need to take apart what the choice is being made in favour of, and why it takes exactly this form.

From here follows a calm attitude to “lapses”. If a person works on themselves regularly and holds their regime all week, one indulgence changes nothing: the momentum of six days out of seven remains the engine of improvement. Someone who understands how they are built can allow themselves the sweet and the rich — because they know why they are allowing it, and they do not fall out of their own vector. The problem is not the pastry. The problem is when a person eats whatever comes to hand for years and gives no account to themselves of what it is doing to their body, their thinking, their gaze.

A habit is simply the description of a script. The choice is always yours.

Do you match what you want?

Everything we surround ourselves with begins in thinking. Which comes first — surroundings or thinking — is a chicken-and-egg question, and it does not matter. What matters is this: a person who wants to live richly, beautifully, wisely must perform actions — however small — that correspond to the person they want to resemble. Because the surroundings, the energies and the thinking around them will unconsciously shape the processes that lead towards their “ideal”. Or fail to lead there — if every day they vote against it.

Ask yourself this chapter’s question — it is an uncomfortable one: “Do I match what I want?” Who are you — and why do you need the space you picture yourself in? All of it will come to you only when you correspond to it. Sometimes the unconscious wants so badly to bring a person to wealth that it does — and that looks more like a test: how will you behave once the potential has been spent? In such situations a person’s principal qualities show themselves at once — who they are in fact.

So food is not about diet. It is about what you feed yourself with as a whole: body, brain, soul. Look at today’s “ration” across all three layers — and you will see your tomorrow.

Everything we surround ourselves with begins in thinking.
