Abstraction

Work for the article “Abstraction” (letter А) in the book “The Spiritual Alphabet”.

This painting reveals a state in which form has not yet become final and thought has not yet fixed matter into a single expression. The cube emerging at the centre does not look like a finished construction — it seems to assemble itself out of light, vibration and the fluid energies that surround it on every side. There is no static order here, yet the precondition for it already exists. Flows of colour, layered space and shimmering boundaries show the state in which everything can still become anything. This is the moment before the final choice, before meaning is fixed, before inner movement comes to a stop. The painting speaks of how every creation is born precisely out of such abstraction: first there is a subtle arrangement of energies, their mutual position, their hidden readiness — and only then does thought gather them into form. It is an image of the space of possibilities, where matter is still free and therefore able to become any reality.
